 Time:

  • Six week course begins on Feb 11, 2023 at 8:30am Pacific
  • Office hours are on Tuesday nights beginning at 8pm Pacific (2-3 hours).  Additional guest speaker will slot in here
  • 1-2 Day complementary stage visit date and LA location TBD

Tentative Expanded Curriculum

  • Week 01 - Set Prep (VAD)
    • Set Design - Theory & Practice, scene setup, modeling tools, Bridge, scanning Art Dept props
    • Set scanning - tech viz your shoots,
    • Lighting - establish correct workflow, pre-light, light baking and dynamic lighting, hdri
    • Scene optimization - mesh, texture and shader optimization
  • Week 02 - Color - OCIO, color grading
    • Level setup for collaborative working
    • Building master scenes - For shooting we need animation and environment ready to shoot
  • Week 03 - Stage Prep and team work - (General)
    • Camera tracking (vive/oculus examples)
    • Revision control - versioning, distributing projects, Perforce
    • Scouting - Multi user/remote session, VR Scouting
    • Remote control, dmx, level snapshot 
  • Week 04 - Greenscreen specific stage prep and shoot
    • Inputs, composure layers, material function based keyer, image plate projection
    • Run through example GS shoot! 
  • Week 05 - LED Wall specific stage prep and shoot
    • nDisplay - Cluster setup, switchboard, Live Link
    • Run through example wall shoot! 
  • Week 06 - Cinematography and on set concepts
