This introductory-level course will get you comfortable with the Houdini interface and introduce a proceduralist mindset.

- Understanding of Proceduralism and Nodes
- Surface Operators (SOPs)
This course is taught live and hands-on by Rob Au, who has over 15 years of experience as a VFX CG Supervisor, Artist, and Educator specializing in Houdini. He has worked at prestigious studios on film, commercials, and games, including Method Studios, Pixomondo, Electronic Arts, Rhythm & Hues, and more. Rob has also taught at the John Hughes Institute, been nominated for a VES Award, and is an Unreal Fellow and Sundance Alumnus.

Lab Times: Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm PT

Prerequisites: Computer to run Houdini. Apprentice subscription is fine. Previous experience in any 3D or VFX software is preferred, but not required.
